Foundry AI are a Series A AI platform business, helping companies fine-tune and deploy foundation models in production. YC-backed, well-funded, sensibly led, and at the stage where the next ten engineering hires materially shape what the company becomes.
The Senior ML Engineer role is genuine senior IC work — model evaluation, fine-tuning, the engineering around inference serving, and the ergonomics of letting customers do all of the above themselves. You’ll work directly with the founding team (one ex-DeepMind, one ex-Cohere) and be expected to operate with the autonomy that early-stage equity warrants.
Stack: Python, PyTorch, the modern serving stack (vLLM, Triton), a healthy attitude towards using third-party LLMs internally where it makes sense. Foundry are not in the business of building from scratch what they can compose.
Who fits: you’ve shipped ML in production at meaningful scale. You’ve worked on either fine-tuning, model evaluation, or inference serving in the last 18 months. You have the kind of pragmatism that comes from having one foot in research and one in engineering. Foundation model experience is helpful but not strictly required if the rest is right.
£160-195k + equity. Hybrid, twice a week in Shoreditch. Lead consultant: Tariq Ahmed.
